Responsibilities

Tim became Managing Partner for Russia and the CIS in January 2010. He has been working in Russia since 2003, initially setting up and running the Valuation and Development Consultancy teams from 2003. In 2008 Tim became responsible for Central and Eastern Europe in the Cross Border Capital Markets Team, based between London and Moscow. He acted Chief Operating Officer in Moscow in 2009. Tim sits on the Russian Board.

 

Recent Successes

• From 2006 to 2008 under Tim’s management team: valued over 2,400 properties with a total value of in excess of US$90 billion;

• $3 billion plus IPO portfolio Valuation for Sistema Hals and Mirland;

• Tim was instrumental in a $250 million capital raising for a St Petersburg developer; valuations for CLN and bond placements of over $1 billion in last 4 years; debt financing of US$700 million for Moscow shopping centre;

• He worked with CW/SR Development Consultancy providing strategic advice on redevelopment of Domodedovo International Airport and Advising Gazpromneft in connection with the proposed Landmark Office skyscraper in St. Petersburg.

Tim has degree in Land’s Economics at Fitzwilliam College of Cambridge University. In 2001-2002 he took MBA at Business School Lausanne specializing in Corporate Finance. Tim has been working in Russia since 2003 when he established and afterwards ran the Valuation and Development consultancy teams. He has advised many property owners, developers and investors in

Currently Andrey Mikeshin is General Director of R.E.D. LLC. The company owns W hotel St.Petersburg. It’s first W hotel in Russia managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

Previously Andrey Mikeshin was general director of White Days Investments which implemented several real estate projects in St.Peterburg  including hotel,  apartments buildings, cottages and others.

Before Andrey Mikeshin was general director of Grand Hotel Europe in St.Petersburg and deputy general director of hotel Pulkovskaya  (now Park Inn Pulkovskaya).

Andrey Mikeshin has about 20 years experience in real estate, investment, hotel business.

Evgenyi Makarov is responsible for commercial real estate management of the project Roza Khutor in Sochi as well as a number of different projects controlled by Holding Company Interros. Tatiana Veller is a Managing Director of HVS Executive Search in Russia. Suzi Yoder is a 25-year hospitality industry veteran who joined Best Western International in 1994. In her current position Suzi is responsible for uniting Best Western’s development and operations arms for all areas outside of the United States, Canada and Asia. She also oversees the management of agreements with entities sub-licensing the Best Western name in various countries around the world.

She began her career at Best Western in 1994 as the director of European Reservations. In that role she oversaw the day-to-day operation of the Italian, Irish and Asian Reservation and Customer Care centers.

Prior to joining Best Western International, MacDonald had a 15-year career with Utell International where she held various senior positions including the Director of Sales & Operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Alexei has been involved in securities markets since 1997. Throughout his professional career, he has focused on analysing Russian, Eastern European and CIS securities, covering the utilities, metals and mining, consumer, banking and real estate sectors. He has substantial experience both in Russia and abroad, having worked for Robert Fleming Securities, ING Financial Markets and JPMorgan Chase in London, and ATON Capital and Renaissance Capital in Moscow. In 2008, Alexei won the prestigious Institutional Investor award for best real estate analyst.

 Dmitry is General Director at Innovative Developments Limited (ID Ltd.)

 

Originally involved in the industrial sector Dmitry began his participation in real estate operations more than ten years ago starting from some small-scale projects. Now he is an experienced developer and project manager with a number of prominent projects in his portfolio.

 

In April 2011 Dmitry has successfully completed the project of the first W hotel in Russia, operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. A result of four years collaboration of worldwide known professionals dealing in architecture, interior design, hospitality and food & beverage management.

 

Currently Dmitry is responsible for a number of projects in the residential sector and for a new multifunctional development on the reclaimed land in St. Petersburg.

 

Dmitry holds a PhD in economics from the St. Petersburg State University.

Alexander Udalov is the founder and Chairmen of the Board of directors of UMACO Group; creator of Russian hotel brand Katerina. The chain under this brand is represented by the leading business class hotels in Russia.  

In 1997 A. Udalov founded the first national hotel management company, UMACO.

Being the General Director of open join-stock company “Krasnaya Polyana”, in 2004 he created a model of development of the ski resort “Karusel” in Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi. Paul joined Corinthia Group in 1990 and quickly rose to the rank of Marketing Manager of CHI Ltd for five years. He then undertook extensive operations exposure in Turkey as Regional Director for Operations and Development, overseeing five Corinthia hotels, representing the Company in its relationships with various hotel owners and constantly seeking to expand the brand in the region.

In 1998, Paul returned to Malta as Director of Business Development, spearheading the Company's expansion in EMEA. In 2006, following CHI’s joint venture with Wyndham Hotel Group, he became Vice President Development and later Senior Vice President, heading world‐wide development while retaining key liaison between CHI and Wyndham Hotels for EMEA. Paul also sits on a number of Corinthia boards.

Peter Norman is the Senior Vice President Acquisitions & Development for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.  He heads up the team responsible for developing Hyatt`s various hotel brands in the region Europe, Africa and Middle East. Previously, Peter has held development positions in a number of international hotel groups including Dolce, Le Meridien, Marriott, Whitbread and Choice Hotels International.  A senior executive with a diverse background and extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Peter has been involved in all aspects of real estate finance, development and consulting for more than 25 years. Earlier in his career, Peter held a number of operational roles, with groups such as Hilton and Accor in France, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom before moving into consultancy working on market and financial feasibility studies throughout the world.

Born Greenock, Scotland 1959, Graduating in Hotel Management and Post Graduate Human Resources & Industrial Relations.

Ken’s career in hotels started with Trust House Forte UK as a Graduate Trainee, moving to various management positions. He joined Hilton International in 1986 and subsequently held positions in UK, Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Joined Interstate in 2003, to run the Marriott Grand Hotel Moscow and was promoted to Executive Vice President in December 2006. In this position he is responsible for Interstate’s 6 hotels in Moscow, also the new Monarch Renaissance Moscow, opened 2010. Ken is also responsible for Interstate’s interests in Europe, based from the Moscow office.

Ken is married, with two daughters and enjoys sports and travel.

He graduated Gubkin Russian State Academy of Oil and Gas in 1995. From 1995 to 2002 he had been working on the securities market and in the sphere of investment, finance and tax consulting.  In 2004 he finished MBA program at New York University Stern School of Business. From 2004 to 2008 he had been working as a Deputy Head of Corporate Management Department and then as a Head of Strategic Planning Department in Public Joint-Stock Company Stroytransgaz.  Aron was born in Russia but has lived and worked in Europe (Belgium and UK) in property development and later as a strategic consultant to local authorities and regional development agencies.

 

Prior to joining IHG Aron worked as a Head of Real Estate in the City of Moscow holding structure for hotel assets, responsible for strategic  development and asset management. The portfolio included 11 hotels with more than 5,000 rooms, office buildings and development projects. This was supported by the previous owners’ involvement with Premier Hotels, Ukraine, an independent hotel group operating their own hotels, where Aron was head of hotel real estate development.

 

Aron holds an MBA degree from Tanaka Business School, Imperial College, London as well as a Hotel Management Diploma from American Hotel & Lodging Association

 

Aron will be based in Moscow implementing plans for the future growth of IHG's brands in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Anatoliy Kuznetsov, the president of Korston Group. He graduated from Gorkovskiy state university majoring in radiophysics. Later on being involved in hospitality business Anatoliy completed professional retraining in Moscow State University for “Company management” course. 

 

His business carrier in a well-known Moscow company Trading House “Russkaya Troika” was started in 1986 during “perestroika” period in Russia.

 

In March 1996 Mr. Kuznetsov was assigned for the General Director of Hotel Complex “Orlyonok”.  Over the years of his prosperous management the hotel complex was rebranded for Korston and achieved the 4* category. Today Korston Hotels&Malls includes three hotels in Moscow,  Kazan and Montenegro. In the nearest future the company is opening a brand-new multifunctional hotel complex in Serpukhov city of over 100 000 m2 area.

 

Apart from the strong business activity Mr. Kuznetsov is also involved in different social projects like annual events voted to the World WarII.

Sergey Kanyev holds two university degrees, in engineering and in law, and OREA International Certificate in Commercial Real Estate.

In over 11 years in the real estate business he has worked for a number of leading Russian and foreign companies, including CCF International Consultants Ltd. (Canada), M+W Zander Facility Management Gmbh, Jones Lang LaSalle, PromSviazNedvizhimost CJSC.

In 2010 Sergey was appointed the Commercial Director of Nagatino i-Land Business Park. In this capacity he is responsible for driving sales and establishing relations with major players of the commercial real estate market.

 

Nagatino i-Land Business Park, Moscow, is one of the largest office centers in the Russian capital, with the total commercial area of appr. 1 000 000 sq.m., mostly B+ office space.

Alexander Kaltykov was born in 1968 in Minsk. He graduated from Russian Distance-Learning finance and economics institute in 1994 majoring in management.

In 2000 Alexander founded Osnova Group development company in Voronezh. In 2010 he was certified by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) as Certificated Project Manager of level B.

Now Alexander occupies the position of the managing partner at Osnova Group and manages the development of the international hotel chain in regional Russia.

Denis Hennequin is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Accor since January 15, 2011. He joined the Group on December 1st, 2010, as Executive Director, and had been member of the board since 2009.
 
Denis Hennequin was President of McDonald's Europe since 2005, responsible for the Company’s 6,600 restaurants in 40 countries. He began his career at McDonald's in 1984 as an Assistant Restaurant Manager. After becoming a Restaurant Manager, he rose through the organization holding numerous positions including Training & Recruitment Consultant, Field Service Consultant, Director of Franchising, Director of Operations and Regional Manager for Paris and surrounding suburbs. He was subsequently Vice President of Operations, Human Resources, Development & Regional Coordination. In 1996, Denis was appointed President & Managing Director of McDonald’s France. He became Executive Vice President for McDonald’s Europe in 2004 and President of McDonald’s Europe in 2005.
 
Denis holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Private International and Social Law.

During his eighteen-year career with EBRD, Sergei has led projects in a number of sectors, including debt and equity financing to the property and tourism sector, banks and equity funds, general industry and infrastructure. He serves as the EBRD’s representative on the supervisory boards of a number of equity funds and real estate companies and was also based in Moscow in 2005-2009 as the representative of the EBRD’s Property&Tourism Team in Russia. Born in 1968, Süha Güçsav graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Economics in 1992, he later received his MA from Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Beginning his professional career in1992 at Alexander & Alexander Insurance Brokerage Co., Güçsav joined the Akfen Family in 1994 where he served as Finance Group President and the CEO, respectively. As of October 1, 2009, Carlton C. Ervin has been named Chief Development Officer, Europe and is leading the newly formed Europe Division combining the existing United Kingdom, Ireland and Continental Europe regions.

Carlton Ervin most recently served as Senior Vice President of International Hotel Development for the regions of the UK & Ireland, Spain & Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and former Yugoslavia, for all Marriott Brands. He relocated to Zurich, Switzerland in August 2008 to join the EMEA Development Team.

Prior to his relocation to Zurich he held the position of Vice President and then Senior Vice President of Caribbean & Latin American Development for Marriott, Renaissance, Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari,, Courtyard and Residence Inn, from 2002-2008.

 

Before joining Marriott’s Lodging Development Department Mr. Ervin worked as a development attorney (in the Caribbean & Latin America) for Marriott's Legal Department, from 2000 to 2002.

 

From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Ervin worked in Manhattan as an associate in the corporate banking division with the New York law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Immediately out of law school, Mr. Ervin worked as an international associate for law firms in Buenos Aires, Argentina (1995 – 1996).

Tom’s involvement with capital markets in Russia began in the 90’s at the predecessors to JP Morgan Chase where he managed an emerging market fixed income sales and trading business and traded Russian sovereign debt, among others, and later worked as an investment banker while managing Russian businesses for ING Barings and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) where he was a Managing Director in Moscow and London. After CSFB's acquisition of DLJ, Tom left the newly merged firm to return to the US where he focused on small to medium capitalization corporate M&A and small cap equity capital markets.  He returned to Russia in 2006 to work in real estate as CFO of Midland Development International, the Russian Developer, to provide in house, pre-initial public offering expertise. Tom joined C&W in September 2007 as Head of Capital Markets and has successfully led the team in a number of important transactions and providing Capital Markets advice on many more.

In 1993 he graduated from году l’Ecole nationale des travaux publics de l’Etat in Lyon, France with a Diploma in civil engineering with double major in construction and international trade. Cuneyt Baltaoglu has been working in Russian real estate investments industry since 1994. He has been actively involved in all aspects of hotel and office development projects in Moscow as well as important regional cities.

Having 10 up and running hotel properties operated by Accor in Turkey, Akfen REIT, the publicly traded real estate investment company of Akfen Holding, the premier infrastructure investment holding of Turkey, has been active in Russian hotel investments since 2008.

The company just opened a hotel in Yaroslavl, and have the following scheduled openings: Samara (November 2011), Kaliningrad (March 2013), Moscow (January 2014).  All hotels are to be operated by Accor under IBIS brand.

Mike Collini has been responsible for driving Hilton’s development activity in Turkey, Russia & Eastern Europe since June 2006 and is now based in Istanbul. Prince George Yourievsky is the great-grandson by second marriage of Emperor Alexander II and Princess Ekaterina Mikhailovna Dolgoroukaya and a long line of illustrious forefathers, including Yuri Dolgorouky, the founder of Moscow. Prince George grew up in Switzerland and studied law and Business Administration.

As well running his own company (private placements) and being on the board of several others, Prince George is a sportsman (skiing, tennis) and was the former team coach of the Swiss Olympic team at the Paralympics 1984. Currently, he is world president of the sports association "ISFHA" (Strenflex).

Besides his business activities in the CIS countries Prince George maintains his links with Russia in its cultural and historical heritage, mainly through working with museums and the Russian Orthodox Church. He is also involved in education (member of the board of Trustees of the European University at St Petersburg) and supports artists and charitable organizations.

Prince George is closely connected to the hotel industry. His parents owned hotels and he is on the board of a Swiss Hotel Group for over a decade.

James began his career at Meridian Capital in September 2000. In December 2004 he entered Russia’s real estate industry by joining Jones Lang LaSalle where he remained until 2008 as National Director, Capital Markets. In July 2008 James joined VTB Capital and was responsible for investment banking in the real estate sector. He has been a Board member at a number of real estate companies as well.

Marina is Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels’ Executive Vice-President in Russia and CIS and the team leader in the Moscow office. Her primary role is business expansion and client base growth.

Marina has been involved in and taking the lead in nearly every hotel-related project run by the Russian operation of the company since the mid-1990s including hotel operator negotiations for the Four Seasons Moskva, W St. Petersburg, and Sofitel Moscow City, valuation of individual hotels and hotel portfolios and feasibility studies across Russia and CIS. Also, Marina led asset management assignments in Moscow and Almaty.

Since the beginning of 2008, Marina’s investment team has exclusively advised on three landmark deals including the first Russian hotel investment sale (Park Inn Yekaterinburg), acquisition of a European hotel operator (AHC) by a Russian private equity group (CEHI), and successful negotiation of a management contract between the Russian development group, its financial partners and the European hotel operator to develop a chain of hotels across the Russian Federation. In 2010 г. the Moscow team led by Marina closed the first Russian hotel transaction since the beginning of the global economic crisis – sold the Sheremetyevo Hotel in Moscow to a foreign investor.

Marina joined the firm in 1996 and prior to the transition to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels was an Associate Director at the Strategic Consulting Department.

 

Marina is a graduate of the Far Eastern State University (Vladivostok, Russia) and holds Master’s degrees in Urban Planning and Business Administration (Finance, Real Estate) from the University of Cincinnati (OH, USA).

Michael Cooper joined Bass, now IHG, in 1998 based in Budapest and responsible for the development of the Crowne Plaza brand in Russia & Central Europe. Subsequently  this was widened to include all IHG brands and over the next five years  he negotiated more than 30 hotel contracts  across the region.   

In 2003 Michael took over IHG’s distribution expansion in the UK adding a further 4,500 rooms to the estate.

Scott Antel heads DLA Piper's Hospitality Practice for Russia, the CIS and Central Asian markets. In his 18 years based in the region, he has worked on the majority of international hotel projects in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Russian regions and CIS countries as well as over a dozen luxury resort hotel and residential projects in Turkey. He has also worked on projects in Montenegro and the Baltic states.

Mr. Antel regularly advises hotel clients on legal and taxation matters, including providing initial structuring advice, negotiating and drafting various hotel management, franchise and lease agreements, representing owners, operators and buyers and sellers. He is a recognised industry authority and a frequent speaker at major hotel conferences focussing on the region.
